RISE - Research Internships in Science and Engineering
RISE is a summer placement programme for undergraduate students from the UK, United States and Canada in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Sciences and Engineering. It offers unique opportunities for undergraduate students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of 1.5 to 3 months during the summer. RISE interns are matched with doctoral students whom they assist and who serve as their mentors. All participants receive a grant from the DAAD to help cover living expenses, while partner universities and research institutes provide housing assistance.
The registration period for placements during summer 2012 has now opened, i.e. doctoral students are currently registering available internships in Germany. Undergraduate students will be able to apply and register their interest in an internship between 6th December 2011 and 31st January 2012.
