On 23 October 2026, we welcomed our Master’s scholarship holders from Germany who are currently pursuing degree programmes at universities across the UK and Ireland to DAAD London in South Kensington.
Our annual Welcome Seminar provides an invaluable opportunity for scholarship holders to connect with one another, hear from representatives of the DAAD London office, and share their first impressions and experiences of studying abroad.
This year’s cohort was welcomed by Anja Fahlenkamp, Deputy Head of the Department for Culture and Education at the German Embassy London, together with DAAD London Director Dr Andreas Hoeschen. Highlights of the programme included an engaging panel discussion on international mobility in times of geopolitical tensions and change, as well as the presentation of an art project exploring the theme of loneliness in large cities and digitalisation. The project was presented by two DAAD scholarship holders from the previous academic year.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our longstanding partners and alumni who participated in the panel discussion, Dr Anna Koch, Jack Porter and Dr Ed Turner, as well as everyone else who contributed to making this event such a success.
